Even if you’ve heard the story,
you’ve never read Genesis like this before. CREATION—The Bible says that we were all made in the image of a complex, compassionate, creative God. But WHY were we made? And why were we made differently, as men and women? What was the original plan for our relationship with God and with each other? FALL —You may have heard about Adam and Eve and the story of that fateful fruit. But have you ever understood it as more than a fairy tale? We’ll be digging into scripture verse by verse, addressing hard questions about temptation, sin, and silence, and talking about what the Fall means for us today. How has evil affected the way we live out our femininity and masculinity? FORGIVENESS —We’ve all been hurt in relationships; we’ve all hurt others. But how do you let go of pain for good? How do we get to a place where our faith is stronger than our fear and shame? Thanks to God’s mercy, sin doesn’t have the final say over our identity and salvation. And thanks to God’s sovereignty, there never was a plan B. The cross was God’s plan since before creation! REDEMPTION —So if we are in Christ, we are a new creation, and we are restored to a right relationship with God. What does it look like, though, to live as redeemed people in a world still shackled by brokenness and injustice? What does it really mean to be a man or woman of God? “Just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.”
