TOPIC: A look at the life of King David.
Join us for a weekend retreat as we learn about 4 roles in David's life and examine our own hearts in light of the Scripture.
As the Jesus Storybook Bible so elegantly puts it: "Some people think the Bible is a book of heroes, showing you people you should copy. The Bible does have some heroes in it, but most of the people aren't heroes at all. They make some big mistakes (sometimes on purpose). They get afraid and run away. At times they are downright mean." As we read, we'll see that David is A LOT like us.
BUT - David is also a foreshadowing of a coming King - King Jesus. As the children's Bible continues, "The Bible isn't a book of rules or a book of heroes...its an adventure story about a young Hero who comes from a far away country to win back his lost treasure." So we'll also see how God used David's life - though seriously flawed - for all of his good purposes and glory. Including his ultimate plan of OUR redemption through his son Jesus Christ!
